The Program
The stricto sensu Post-graduation Program in Education, recommended by the Coordination of Improvement for People with Higher Education (CAPES – in Portuguese), proposes the instruction of educators based on the theoretical-conceptual and theoretical-methodological dimensions that allow consistent analysis of the epistemological frameworks and of the main categories and concepts that they handle to develop the educational phenomenon.
Given that, it is an objective of this Master’s Degree course to train teachers who are able to understand that each epistemological trend addresses, in a differentiated way, many problems of the knowledge and their possibilities of analysis and intervention in the real life. Thus, the conditions of intelligibility of many kinds of fundamental problems of the educational sciences are discussed, considering the theoretical and practical relation. The above assumptions are divided in the following objectives:
1. To instruct researchers in Education who are able to respond to the challenges of the socio-cultural reality of the region and of the country, of the daily situations of the school and of its surroundings;
2. To contribute to the thinking of political, ethical and epistemological natures of the Education and its repercussions in the production of knowledge and its teaching practices;
3. To prepare the graduate student for the practice of teaching in a critical way and coordinated with teaching, research and extension;
